Trimming Shrubs


A couple of lilacs in the front yard have grown somewhat out of control, and they were getting in my way when I mowed the lawn.  So I broke out my loppers and chopped off some of the low-lying branches.


Compare the shrub in the foreground in the photo above to the photo below.


And the next two photos are a before-and-after of the other lilac.



After I took the photos in this post, I broke out the saw and took out even more branches.  Now it will be a lot easier to negotiate this area the next time I mow...which will probably be in a couple of days.


Of course, now I have a pile of branches that I have to get rid of.  I guess it's a good thing that yard waste collection is next week!
